Master Trainer/Director Katrina Charmatz has a diverse and eclectic 20-year fitness training background including yoga, cycling, swimming, dance and equestrian arts. She is an Integrated Teacher Training (ITT) certified Pilates instructor and has studied with some of the leading Pilates professionals including Madeline Black, Jean Claude West and Brent Anderson. Since 2005, Katrina has worked as the senior trainer at Fit First Pilates, voted "Best of Marin's" premier Pilates studio.
Katrina has enjoyed a yoga practice for many years, but it was Pilates that helped with the rehabilitation of an arthritic hip condition. She quickly discovered Pilates gave her increased body awareness, and with this focused attention Katrina trained her body more efficiently, allowing for pain-free movement and increased core strength. Katrina has also been active in the equestrian community for years. Her focus has been in Pleasure equitation, dressage and natural horsemanship training methods.
The re*balance Philosophy
At re*balance Pilates we respect your intelligence about your body. The human body is incredibly intricate and no one body is exactly the same as another. We guide clients through each lesson, making modifications and adjusting difficulty level to individual capabilities. We offer precise verbal cues and careful attention to insure proper body alignment, as well as effective and safe movements.
We are highly trained and knowledgeable about anatomy and the complexities of the human body. We give our clients information and skills they can immediately incorporate into their daily life. Our clients are of different ages and abilities, yet we are all united by a desire to feel stronger, healthier and more vibrant.
